People’s Party says it has evidence to shake ‘blue regime’ as no-confidence debate looms

Bangkok, September 1, 2026 — Opposition leader Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut has stated that his party possesses evidence to potentially undermine the "blue regime" government, which could lead to a parliamentary debate or no-confidence motion. The opposition has been discussing ways to scrutinize the government's actions, although no final decision has been made on the type of debate.

Natthaphong emphasized that the allegations surrounding the Senate election and corruption claims make it difficult to dismiss the possibility of government corruption, particularly among Bhumjaithai Party members. He revealed that the party has received information from individuals who may have been affected by or involved in alleged wrongdoing.

Natthaphong indicated that the party would utilize its strongest evidence during a no-confidence debate but would withhold details to prevent the government from preparing a counter-response. The opposition claims to have evidence demonstrating the "blue regime's" growing power, including alleged control over political systems, independent agencies, and businesses linked to state procurement.

Natthaphong also alleged that those exposing wrongdoing might face legal repercussions and politically motivated information dissemination. He expressed confidence that opposition MPs would remain united in a potential no-confidence vote. Natthaphong dismissed Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's gratitude for the party's support, warning that he could potentially help remove the prime minister from office.
