Oluremi Tinubu visits Anambra September 10

On Thursday, September 10, 2026, Nigeria's First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu is set to embark on an official visit to Anambra State, her first since becoming the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This visit aims to bolster the collaboration between the Federal Government and Anambra State in initiatives focused on poverty reduction, economic empowerment, food security, and improved livelihoods for vulnerable citizens, according to a statement from Daniel Ezeigwe, the Media Aide to Anambra State Governor Dr. Nonye Soludo.

A key element of the visit will be the empowerment of 5,000 individuals through the "Progressives United Against Poverty Initiative," a partnership spearheaded by the Anambra State Government to support President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Support Scheme. The initiative seeks to provide practical economic assistance and opportunities to enhance the livelihoods of those most in need, with a special emphasis on people and households requiring additional support to become more economically productive.

Another significant aspect of the visit will be the inauguration of the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East Geopolitical Zone, also taking place in Anambra State on the same day. This program is part of the 'Renewed Hope Initiative' aiming to bolster food security and assist vulnerable households, especially amid growing concerns about hunger and nutrition.

During her visit, Senator Tinubu will also travel to the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, where she is scheduled to officially commission key projects at the institution. The First Lady's trip to Anambra State underscores the growing partnership between the Federal Government and the state, which was praised by President Bola Tinubu during his last state visit on May 8, 2025.
