NBA conference was flop, leadership playing politics – Wike

Minister Nyesom Wike has criticized the recent Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference as a "flop," alleging that the association's leadership is more interested in political games than addressing issues relevant to the legal profession. Speaking during a media interview in Port Harcourt, Wike questioned the lasting impact the current NBA president will have.

He expressed his disagreement with her leadership, stating that he had informed her that he would not support her, mainly due to her decision to invite a former governor who was accused of chaining and locking courts for nearly two years.

Wike, who holds the position of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), defended the government's performance in Abuja, asserting that projects initiated under President Bola Tinubu would be finished before the current administration's term ends. He challenged others to compare the achievements of the Tinubu administration in Abuja with those of preceding governments. Wike stated, "In the history of the FCT, no government has done what we have done in Abuja. I challenge anyone to come out."
