All Tinubu projects in FCT will be completed before tenure expires – Wike

Minister Nyesom Wike has declared that all initiatives launched under President Bola Tinubu’s presidency in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will be completed before the end of the administration's term. Wike made these remarks during a media discussion in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he also contended that no prior FCT government has achieved the accomplishments of the Tinubu administration in Abuja.

"By the time this term ends, every project initiated under Bola Tinubu will have been finished," Wike asserted. He challenged detractors to compare the current administration's performance with previous administrations in the FCT, stating, "No government in the history of the FCT has accomplished what we have achieved in Abuja. I challenge anyone to do the same."

The minister also criticized the recently held Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference, branding it a failure. According to Wike, the NBA leadership prioritized politics over legal matters. "Rather than focusing on issues concerning the NBA, they engaged in political activities," he argued. Wike also questioned the current NBA president's legacy, alleging that she did not support her election and had previously explained her reasons.

He expressed concern over inviting a former governor, who Wike accused of "chaining and locking up the court for almost two years," to an NBA event. "I will tell the NBA president: what will you claim will be your legacy? As the Minister of the FCT, what would I say I have accomplished?" he questioned. "When you witness such actions, it raises questions about the type of NBA we have."
