N Sembilan beri tempoh 30 hari 17 Adun PH pulang peruntukan

Pahang Chief Minister Ismail Lasim has informed 17 Pakatan Harapan (PH) MPs and two DUN activists, instructing them to return the remaining subsidies they received from the previous administration within a 30-day period or face further action. The notice was sent to all involved on the evening of the previous day, accompanied by varying amounts.

Sinar Harian reported this information. The Chief Minister provided them with a 30-day window to reimburse the state government. Should they fail to explain the remaining subsidy within the given time frame, further action will be taken, he stated at a press briefing after the Exco meeting in Seremban. According to him, only former Chief Minister Aminuddin Harun has already returned the subsidy.

The RM180,000 dispute, allegedly channeled to PH MPs, was raised during the First Session, First Reading of the State Assembly on August 18. This follows a letter about financial aid for public welfare provided to PH MPs totaling RM180,000 for July to September, dated June 4, following the PRN Ninth Puncak in Pahang. Earlier, Ismail had mentioned that 17 PH MPs and two DUN activists under the former Pahang government need to return the subsidies they received for July to September following the dissolution of the DUN.

In other words, each former exco must return RM150,000 for August and September, while 10 PH MPs and two DUN activists from Labu and Paroi must return RM174,000 and RM150,000 respectively. Nilai Arul Kumar subsequently urged the state government to reconsider its instructions, arguing that all MPs have used some of the funds for public welfare, while some may have fully utilized them.

He noted that it is difficult to return the funds due to their annual rather than monthly distribution.
