Mudryk joins Tottenham on loan from Chelsea

Ukraine forward Mykhailo Mudryk has joined Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan from Premier League rival Chelsea, just over a month after being cleared to return following an anti-doping ban. The 25-year-old expressed his excitement to train and play for the club, as well as to reunite with coach Roberto De Zerbi. Mudryk, known for his speed and creativity, aims to contribute in both offensive and defensive aspects of the game.

He will be joined by central defender Tosin Adarabioyo, who also moved from Chelsea for £7 million. Mudryk's loan move comes after struggling to make an impact at Chelsea, where he struggled to break through since joining from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023. He served a four-year ban imposed by the Football Association following an adverse analytical finding for meldonium in an anti-doping test in 2024, but his suspension was reduced in agreement with the FA and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Tottenham, who have invested heavily in the summer transfer window, aim to improve their attacking options and had previously shown interest in Everton's Iliman Ndiaye, who joined Manchester City earlier on Tuesday.
