MP’s Mandsaur On Alert After Suspected Hyena Attack Kills 6 Goats, Injures 4

Mandsaur district in Madhya Pradesh has been placed on alert following a suspected hyena attack that left six goats dead and four others injured. The incident occurred in Hasli village when a wild animal broke into a cattle enclosure on Wednesday morning. Farmer Nain Singh Gurjar discovered the mutilated bodies upon arriving at the scene and alerted the police and the forest department.

The police arrived at the location and documented the event, while a team from the forest department conducted an investigation, searching for evidence of the attacker. Forest ranger Narendra Malviya indicated that the attack was likely carried out by a large wild animal, with hyenas often carrying prey away, unlike leopards who tend to consume their kills at the site.

The discovery of two goats taken away by the predator has led authorities to believe the attack was indeed perpetrated by hyenas, possibly involving two or three animals. Due to this suspicion, the forest department has intensified surveillance efforts in the vicinity.
