Manipur assembly passes third resolution seeking NRC update before census
The Manipur Assembly passed a resolution urging the Centre to update the National Register of Citizens. This is the third such resolution adopted by the assembly since 2022. The Centre deferred the census exercise in Manipur after a high-level meeting. This decision was taken considering the feelings and aspirations of the people. Protests continued demanding a clear roadmap for updating the NRC.
