Lufthansa Dubai flights suspension extended; Riyadh services resume September 10

Dubai-based travelers with Lufthansa Group airlines must endure further delays as services to and from Dubai remain suspended until October 24, according to the latest update released on September 1. The suspension affects Lufthansa, SWISS, and Eurowings, who continue to operate on operational grounds. Eurowings anticipates resuming Dubai flights starting November 1, making it the first carrier to return to the route, based on the current schedule.

Passengers flying to Europe from the UAE will need to seek alternative airlines and routes until services are fully restored.

The suspension also impacts Abu Dhabi, with Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, and Edelweiss halting flights there through October 24. Eurowings' Abu Dhabi services are similarly suspended until October 24, with no specific resumption date announced. Additional Middle East routes, including Beirut, Dammam, Muscat, Erbil, and Tehran, remain suspended through October 24, while flights to Erbil and Tehran are suspended until October 31.

Lufthansa is gradually restoring services in other Middle Eastern regions. Starting September 10, Frankfurt to Riyadh flights will resume, initially operating three times per week. Daily Frankfurt-Amman flights are planned to restart from October 25, while Austrian Airlines will reintroduce Vienna-Amman services three times per week from October 2.

The Lufthansa Group emphasizes ongoing monitoring and assessment of the Middle East situation, with the possibility of further changes due to the dynamic nature of the region. Travelers are advised to check individual flight statuses and monitor updates from their airlines, as some Middle East services are being restored while suspensions persist on other routes.
