John Boadu Pledges To Rebuild Party, Win 2028 Polls

John Boadu, the former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to rebuild and unite the party ahead of the 2028 general election. Speaking to supporters and delegates, Boadu emphasized the importance of experienced leadership capable of restoring discipline and strengthening the party's structures. He recalled the challenging period between 2014 and 2015 when the NPP was deeply divided, leading to the loss of key leadership positions.

Despite this, Boadu led efforts to rebuild the party, increasing its parliamentary seats from 122 in 2012 to 169 in 2016. Boadu also highlighted the party's success in the 2020 elections, retaining the presidency despite pandemic-related challenges. He argued that a united and disciplined NPP could overcome significant political obstacles.

Boadu outlined a five-point agenda, focusing on unity, rebuilding the party, mobilizing resources, strengthening structures, and activating the party's electoral machinery. He expressed confidence in working with former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as well as Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 presidential candidate.

Boadu pledged to listen to party members, unite the party, and defend its values, ultimately aiming to help Mahamudu Bawumai become President of Ghana in 2029.
