Jaguars looking to make the playoffs in consecutive years for the first time since 1999

The Jacksonville Jaguars aim to secure consecutive playoff appearances, a first since the 1998-99 season, according to coach Liam Coen's initial season. Nineteen starters from the previous year will return and believe the team can achieve this goal. The franchise has not finished above .500 for the past four seasons, losing games with double-digit wins in 2000, 2006, 2008, and 2018.

To overcome this trend, the Jaguars face a challenging schedule, including matchups against four playoff teams in the first six weeks of the 2025 season, as well as two home games in London. The team must also maximize the potential of several young players, including QB Trevor Lawrence, who had his best season in five years during the final seven games of the regular season, and WR Brian Thomas Jr., who excelled late in the year after making the Pro Bowl.

The defensive line, receiving corps, and offensive line will also need to improve for the Jaguars to take a step forward.
