Iran strikes US bases across region after American attack kills 18, including children

Iran retaliated against US military installations across the Middle East after American forces killed at least 18 people, including children, in a targeted attack on Tuesday. Among those killed were two children during a US airstrike on a wedding in Kuhestak, Iraq. In response, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a coordinated attack on US bases in Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait.

The IRGC targeted a maintenance center, warehouses, and the guidance system of a US surveillance aerostat in Erbil, Iraq. They also struck US military facilities at Al Dhafra and Al Minhad bases in the UAE, destroying radar systems and several US drones. In Kuwait, Iranian forces destroyed a drone hangar and launch area at Ali Al Salem Airbase, while causing damage to US infrastructure, weapons, and equipment.

Iranian officials claimed the attacks caused heavy damage and resulted in the injury or death of American commanders and soldiers.

Iranian officials called for regional governments to expel US forces from their territories, warning of further retaliation if the US continues its actions. Two oil tankers were hit by mines while trying to navigate the Strait of Hormuz, prompting Iran's warning that shipping companies falling for US deception would face consequences.
