In-state QB is a priority target for Florida State

Florida State made a clear statement to 2028 three-star quarterback Hudson West during his campus visit, designating him as one of their top targets. West, who hails from Sarasota, Florida, traveled a five-hour round trip to Tallahassee for the opportunity to experience the program firsthand. This visit marked the second time West had come to Tallahassee, following a previous trip in June for a camp.

During his recent stop, West not only got a better sense of the Seminoles' program but also had the chance to spend time with former Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis.

Florida State’s coaching staff communicated to West that he was a priority target, a fact that West confirmed during his interview with 247Sports. The quarterback revealed that he appreciated the reassurance, emphasizing that the message from Florida State was "pretty clear." Despite the competition from other top programs like the Florida Gators and North Carolina Tar Heels, West's visit provided an encouraging insight into what the Seminoles have to offer.

As a nationally ranked prospect, West has proven his skills both through the air and on the ground, boasting a 67.7% completion rate with 42 of 62 passes completed for 651 yards and seven touchdowns, coupled with only one interception. He has also contributed significantly on the ground with 89 yards on 10 carries, scoring three times.

After his visit, West expressed optimism about the Seminoles' prospects and their potential to retain his commitment. Florida State will need to maintain their winning record and provide West with additional opportunities on campus to solidify his decision.
