Florida State is still pursuing dynamic RB committed to ACC school

Florida State had a successful recruitment month in June, securing eight commitments in the 2027 cycle, with three-star running back Marquis Fennell being a notable target. Despite the Seminoles being the only school with the chance to secure him, Fennell ultimately chose Stanford Cardinal. Florida State, however, has not given up on pursuing Fennell, with the player confirming to 247Sports reporter Brendan Sonnone, "They're trying a little bit."

As per 247Sports composite rankings, Fennell is ranked No. 749 nationally and No. 57 as a running back. In Georgia, he ranks No. 89. Florida State currently has four-star running back Jayden Miles as a commitment in the 2027 class. Fennell's dynamic skills as a dual-threat player, demonstrated by 1,480 rushing yards, 23 touchdowns, 764 receiving yards, and 10 scores as a junior, as well as his impressive first two games as a senior, make him an attractive prospect for the Seminoles.

The recruiting team attempted to bring Fennell to campus last weekend for the first game, but the visit did not materialize. The Seminoles hope to add Fennell to their visitors list later in the season.
