Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong pleads guilty to collusion

Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong has pleaded guilty to foreign collusion, according to media reports. This marks his second conviction under a Beijing-imposed security law that has transformed the financial hub. Wong, who is already serving a four-year and eight-month sentence for subversion, will now face sentencing, which is likely to extend his time in jail.

The new collusion offense carries a minimum prison term of three years, with a maximum penalty of life if deemed of a "grave nature." A guilty plea typically results in a reduced sentence compared to if the charge was contested.
