Have Arsenal's challengers done enough?

As the transfer window closes, Arsenal are on track to retain their Premier League crown for a second consecutive season. Having secured two wins at the start of the new campaign, manager Mikel Arteta's team appears to be in an ominous position to achieve their goal. The question remains, however, as to whether their main rivals have done enough to prevent this outcome.

Chelsea, who recently saw Enzo Fernandez depart to Manchester City for £125 million, have made a number of strategic signings in an effort to bolster their squad. The club's new manager, Xabi Alonso, has already rectified a longstanding issue by bringing in goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa following a strong display in Arsenal's opening match against Fulham.

The influx of new talent extends beyond the goalkeeping position, with Morgan Rogers joining from Aston Villa for £117 million. This signing has already formed a devastating trio in attack with Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro, while Maxence Lacroix has made a significant impact defensively. In a strategic shift, experienced players Jordan Henderson and Danny Welbeck have been brought in to add valuable expertise to the team.

However, despite Chelsea's efforts in bolstering their squad, the club remains outside the race for the title. The arrival of a large squad this summer with no European football on offer means that there is little distraction for the players, and it is likely that both Arsenal and Chelsea will be in close contention for the championship.
