From MP’s Sagar Village To Viral Fame: Visually Impaired Singer Sunil Lodhi Wins Millions Of Hearts

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: Visually impaired singer Sunil Lodhi, hailing from a small village in Sagar district, has captured the hearts of millions across the globe with his devotional song "Maine Tere Hi Bharose Hanuman" from the film Hanuman Ansh. Born into a modest family that relies on agriculture and livestock for subsistence, Sunil's musical journey began in school and progressed through participation in local devotional singing groups.

His career took off in 2019 after Rohit Sahu, a Bundeli Duniya artist, shared his music on social media. Sunil's soulful rendition of "More Sankat Ke Kataiya Hanuman," recorded in an Indore studio, garnered over 2.8 crore views. During a visit to Versova Beach in Mumbai, director Vishal Chaturvedi came across a photo Rohit shared, leading to Sunil's call to the studio at midnight. His emotional performance of "Maine Tere Hi Bharose Hanuman" moved everyone, securing the song's place in the film immediately.

Unlettered, Sunil had only completed Class 1 of his schooling, and he never anticipated the phenomenal response his song would receive. The singer, who has self-taught himself, expressed his surprise and gratitude at the massive support he received. In addition to his work on Hanuman Ansh, Sunil has been offered tracks in the upcoming instalments of the franchise and multiple new industry opportunities. He dreams of duetting with Bollywood playback singer Jubin Nautiyal.
