EPL: Why I joined Man City — Enzo Fernández

Former Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández has disclosed his motivation for joining Manchester City, expressing his eagerness for a fresh challenge and his commitment to aiding the team in their pursuit of additional championships. The Argentine star finalized his £125 million transfer from Chelsea to City, as per BBC Sport's report. In his own words, Fernández stated, "I could not be happier to be here, and I am ready for the challenge of helping City continue winning trophies. This is a club built for success."

The 25-year-old also emphasized his intention to learn from his new teammates and elevate his own skills. Fernández noted, "If you look across the squad, City have quality in every area. I want to learn from my new teammates and become a better player." Additionally, the midfielder will be reunited with manager Enzo Maresca, with whom he previously collaborated during Maresca's tenure at Chelsea.

Fernández joins City following a tumultuous period at Chelsea, where he faced discontent from certain supporters before ultimately departing the club. Despite this challenging backdrop, he expressed gratitude towards Chelsea in an open letter. However, Fernández is now concentrating on his new chapter at Manchester City and has pledged to give his all for his new team. He affirmed, "I give absolutely everything and I can promise Manchester City that I will continue now I’m here."
