DICID participates in 'Family Challenges Amidst Major Transformations' conference

The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID) is taking part in a two-day conference called "Family Challenges Amidst Major Transformations: A Fatwa-Based Approach to Protecting the Family, Envisioning its Future, and Preserving Identity" in Cairo. The conference, organized by the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, aims to discuss the challenges facing the Muslim family in the current era.

DICID's participation demonstrates Qatar's active role in international forums focused on discussing issues relevant to the Islamic world, particularly those concerning the Muslim family. The center's CEO, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Naimi, highlighted the major challenges families face today, such as globalization, technological advancements, and changing cultural norms, which threaten the family's structure, system, and unity.

He emphasized the need for international collaboration among civil institutions, organizations, and Islamic fatwa authorities to find solutions that preserve the cohesion of family values, rooted in Islamic principles. Dr. Al Naimi noted that the 15th Doha Conference on Interfaith Dialogue, which also addressed family structure in the context of changing world dynamics, laid the groundwork for this conference's discussions.

The event seeks to analyze contemporary family issues in the age of artificial intelligence and digital transformation, and to develop a comprehensive fatwa-based approach to safeguard the family, anticipate its future, and maintain its identity. The conference brings together numerous Muslim scholars, fatwa institutions, international government figures, and academics to discuss the future of the family and the role of fatwas in addressing transformational challenges affecting societies worldwide.
