Dental technology hub inaugurated at AMTZ

Secretary Manoj Joshi opened Dentic World, a dental technology hub, at Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. The event featured a round-table discussion with AMTZ managing director Jitendra Sharma and heads of manufacturing units. The talks centered on bolstering domestic medical device production, broadening testing and validation abilities, enhancing access to essential raw materials, and lessening reliance on imports.

The visit was a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AMTZ and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre aimed at cooperation in radiopharmaceuticals, radiochemistry, and oncology research, merging AMTZ's Techtron facilities with the hospital's oncology research and clinical know-how. Dentic World integrates research, design, prototyping, and advanced manufacturing under a single roof, aiming to facilitate the creation and commercialization of homegrown dental technologies. The Secretary was joined by Joint Secretary Aman Sharma.
