Defence Expo to be held as part of Invest Telangana global summit in December

The Telangana Government is meticulously organizing the Defence Expo 2026, scheduled to take place from December 7 to 9 at Bharat Future City, as part of the second edition of the investors' global summit, Invest Telangana. The expo will feature an airshow, an industrial exhibition, and special events centered around defence systems, along with seminars on aerospace, defence, and space technologies.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has extended an invitation to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to inaugurate the event, which will serve as a platform for defence firms, startups, and young scientists to exhibit their latest technologies.

During his visit to New Delhi on September 2, 2026, Reddy met with the Defence Minister and discussed the state government's readiness to host the expo on par with international standards. He requested the Defence Ministry's cooperation in the successful execution of the event and permission for aerobatic teams, including Suryakiran, Sarang, and other defence aircraft, to participate in the airshow.

The government aims to showcase the latest technologies employed by the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and invites defence firms like HAL, BEL, BDL, and others to participate and display their innovations.

The Defence Ministry is expected to extend support by conducting meetings with representatives of prominent global defence firms and arranging bilateral discussions involving defence officials. Reddy informed the Defence Minister that the state government has initiated the process of acquiring 750 acres of land for the proposed airport at Adilabad, with plans to acquire an additional 750 acres, as the ministry had requested a total of 1,500 acres for the project.

The Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation has agreed to provide 416.18 acres of land for the project, which the state government intends to lease at a nominal rent of ₹1 per year for 30 years, with the possibility of extending the lease for two more terms based on the Defense Ministry's requirements.
