Days after murdering wife, trying to kill son, ex-serviceman found dead in suspected suicide

Mahendra Shivaji Daundkar, a 45-year-old former Army serviceman, was discovered dead on Wednesday in a suspected suicide case in Khed taluka, Pune. Daundkar had been married to 40-year-old Deepa, and they had a 17-year-old son, Atharva. According to an FIR filed at the Khed police station, Daundkar allegedly murdered his wife and attempted to kill his son before taking his own life.

The retired soldier, who worked as a security guard at a private company in Vishrantwadi, Pune, was found hanging from a tree in the Chandoli area of Khed. The police claim that the death appears to be a suicide, and further investigation is underway.
