CM Punjab Orders Removal of Illegal House Ramps

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif recently ordered the removal of illegal house ramps obstructing roads. She directed authorities to install drain covers made from recycled plastic along roadways. During a meeting to review development projects utilizing the own-source revenue model, Nawaz also mandated the display of city names on landscaped plots at their entry points.

Eight projects were to be undertaken in Sargodha, six in Khushab, and six in Bhakkar. These included the construction of Dairy Road, Azad Road, Urdu Bazaar Road, Pilot Chowk, and the Khayyam Chowk overhead bridge. Six road construction and rehabilitation projects were approved for each of Khushab and Bhakkar. Nawaz also approved six own-source revenue projects for Rajanpur, but requested additional development schemes for the city and nearby areas.

She approved sewerage and drainage schemes for rural regions of Rojhan, Kot Mithan, Jampur, and Dajal, with completion prioritized. Electronic traffic signals were directed to be installed on congested roads in Bhakkar and other cities. Concrete flowerpots along roads were prohibited. In a separate meeting, Nawaz instructed Punjab Assembly members from Dera Ghazi Khan to oversee development projects within their districts.

The legislators reported a decline in crime in DG Khan and improvements in law and order in the katcha area, marking a sign of effective governance in Punjab. Nawaz, on a recent visit to China, aimed to transform Punjab into an artificial intelligence hub, introducing advanced Chinese methods for cancer and other disease treatments and diagnoses.

She expressed satisfaction with electric buses operating in Dera Ghazi Khan and ongoing road, drainage, water supply, and beautification projects across Dera Ghazi Khan and other cities.
