California moves $125m toward turning former racetrack into waterfront park
California lawmakers are advancing $125 million for a former racetrack purchase. This funding aims to transform the 162-acre property into a public waterfront park. The East Bay Regional Park District would manage the site after its acquisition. Remaining funds are being sought from public and philanthropic sources. Public planning and phased construction will occur after the land purchase.
