Brewers May Be Pete Crow-Armstrong's Kryptonite Despite MVP Season

The Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, currently leading the National League in MVP voting, has encountered a significant obstacle against the Milwaukee Brewers this season. While Crow-Armstrong has an OPS over .800 against every team with which he has played more than one series, his performance against the Brewers is notably poor. In fact, his struggles are most concerning against the Brewers due to the fact that they are in the same division, and he will face them 13 times this season.

During the National League Division Series last season, Crow-Armstrong had a .067 batting average against the Brewers, committing just two hits in 34 plate appearances. His career statistics against the Brewers are equally unimpressive, with a .155/.252/.330 slash line and 38 strikeouts. Despite having five home runs in his career against the Brewers, his numbers against them are by far the worst of any team he has more than 80 career plate appearances against.

As the regular season concludes, Crow-Armstrong will see the Brewers five more times, potentially impacting his chances of securing the MVP award. Cubs fans should also be wary if the divisional series in the postseason involves a matchup against the Brewers. In last year's NLDS, Crow-Armstrong went 2-for-17 against the Brewers, striking out six times, which adds to the concern surrounding his upcoming matchups.
