Steve Bisciotti makes a major investment in Baltimore HBCU students

NFL owners are often remembered for their actions on the field, but Baltimore Ravens' Steve Bisciotti and his family are taking a different approach by expanding a scholarship program for Baltimore's college-bound students. The Bisciotti Family Foundation has pledged up to $3 million to continue the Ozzie Newsome Scholars Program in a partnership with Morgan State University.

This eight-year grant, running from 2026 to 2033, will fund 40 new students at Morgan State, with 10 students chosen from each incoming class. Each recipient will receive $15,000 per year for up to five years, amounting to a potential scholarship value of $75,000 per student.

Bisciotti emphasized that the program is about more than just financial aid, stating that it honors Ozzie Newsome's legacy by investing in Baltimore students who possess talent, determination, and character. The initiative started in 2021 with a $4 million commitment, which was shared among four HBCUs in the Baltimore area. Currently enrolled students will continue to receive support, but future classes will primarily focus on Morgan State University.

This renewed commitment not only boosts the annual award for future students but also strengthens the bond between the Ravens' ownership and Morgan State, the city's largest HBCU.
