The Orioles capitalized on Samuel Basallo's and Blaze Alexander's RBI singles to take a 5-3 lead in the 11th. Despite this, Colorado's TJ Rumfield and Connor Norby drove in Connor Norby, while Adael Amador hit a ground-rule double. However, Sullivan's decisive bloop hit into left field sealed the win for the Rockies.

The loss was particularly hard on Baltimore, as they battled for the final AL wild-card spot. Baltimore had gone 6-3 on their West Coast trip but fell short in the final two games, including this one.
