Big economic boost: Japan upgrades India's sovereign rating to A- amid strong growth

Japan Cricket Association CEO Naoki Alex Miyaji has responded to concerns raised by India and Pakistan regarding the accommodation arrangements for the upcoming Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. Miyaji clarified that participating nations have the freedom to arrange their own accommodation, following complaints from major cricketing countries.

Organisers of the event defended the makeshift facilities in Nisshin City, citing a limited timeframe for preparation. The logistical challenges include 20-kilometre daily commutes for players, temporary dressing rooms, and alleged treks to player washrooms. This has led JCA to remind teams that they can arrange their own hotels if the official accommodations do not meet their expectations.

The tournament, set to begin on September 17 at Korogi Sports Park, faces the challenge of operating in a prefecture without established cricket infrastructure. Miyaji emphasized that the event is driven primarily by the Aichi-Nagoya Games Organising Committee alongside the Asian Cricket Council and Olympic Council of Asia. He assured that playing conditions will not be compromised despite the rushed preparations.

The main issue lies in the venue itself, as Aichi Prefecture had no cricket ground, necessitating the conversion of space at Korogi Sports Park. JCA has been working closely with the ACC for over a year to provide the best facilities within the limited timeline.
