Barcelona loanee already making a big impression at his new club

Barcelona's young goalkeeper Diego Kochen has been making waves at his new club Lyngby after a summer loan move. The 20-year-old has proven himself since his transfer, recently being named in the Danish Superliga Team of the Week for an impressive display against Odense Boldklub. In that match, he made seven crucial saves and stopped several crucial attacks. Lyngby currently sits with five points after six games, thanks to Kochen's regular playing time.

Kochen decided to join Lyngby to gain more competitive matches, and he has started all but one game so far. With his recent form, he may receive another call-up from the US youth teams. Lyngby has an option to buy Kochen for €1.5 million at the end of the loan, with Barcelona retaining 40% of any transfer fee.

Barcelona's goalkeeping situation is now secure, as Kochen's arrival has freed up space for Dominik Livakovic, who has a clear path to the first team. With three goalkeepers now on the roster, Barcelona won't need to rely on academy players for matchday squads. The established first choice is Wojciech Szczesny.
