Air Force opens 2026 recruitment for tradesmen, non-tradesmen

The Nigerian Air Force has launched its 2026 recruitment drive for both tradesmen/women and non-tradesmen/women. Interested individuals can apply online from September 3 to October 14, 2026. The Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 47/2026 begins on September 3, 2026. No cost is associated with the application process.

Eligibility criteria vary based on the category. Tradesmen/women must be between 18 and 27 years old by March 1, 2027, while non-tradesmen/women must fall within the age range of 18 to 22 years old. Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and meet specific height requirements (1.66 meters for males and 1.63 meters for females). They must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit and adhere to NAF’s medical and employment standards.

For tradesmen/women, possessing an ND or NCE from an accredited institution is necessary, along with at least five credits, including Mathematics and English, in either two sittings or fewer in WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, or NBAIS. Driving and other trades requiring a Trade Test necessitate the relevant Trade Test certificate and compliance with SSCE requirements. Drivers must also possess a valid driving license.

Non-tradesmen/women must have at least five credits, including Mathematics and English, in the appropriate examinations and provide primary school certificates and secondary school testimonials. Successful applicants will need to complete Acknowledgement Form, Parent/Guardian Consent Form, and Local Government Area Attestation Form.

The attestation form can be signed by a military officer, police officer (Chief Superintendent of Police or above), a state official (substantive local government chairman or secretary), or a magistrate.

The zonal general aptitude test for successful candidates will be held on a date communicated through the recruitment portal. Only successful candidates will be invited for interviews.
