A leading Democratic Party legislator has expressed concerns about the appointment of a candidate with a notable conflict of interest in the role of Family Equality Secretary-General. The legislator, Song Yonggil, stated that the public may find it difficult to accept such a choice, noting that the candidate's twin appointment as proportional representative and cabinet member is not in line with convention and appears to be an act of favoritism.

Song emphasized that if the government appoints someone who they believe will receive special treatment, it would appear to be an unjust and excessive move. He also questioned whether the government has provided sufficient support and consideration for the younger generation, suggesting that the appointment lacks real substance and will be seen as unfair by many.
