2027: Turaki PDP backs opposition push to oust Tinubu

The Tanimu Turaki-led People's Democratic Party (PDP) has joined forces with the G-100 coalition of opposition leaders to challenge and defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 Nigerian general elections. According to a statement by PDP's National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the decision was made to unite with other credible political forces and address the hardships, insecurity, and poverty experienced under the APC administration.

At the G-100 alliance summit held in Abuja on Monday, representatives from six opposition political parties explored potential areas of cooperation ahead of the upcoming election. The PDP's participation in this coalition, formed at the inaugural meeting, demonstrates its commitment to building a united opposition platform to challenge the incumbent APC candidate, Bola Tinubu, in the 2027 elections.

Turaki emphasized that the PDP's involvement in the G-100 initiative is driven by the need to create a transparent and egalitarian leadership capable of addressing Nigerians' grievances. This move aligns with the party's earlier commitment to collaborate with like-minded political parties and organizations focused on saving the country from the perceived vices orchestrated by the ruling APC.
