Tupac Shakur murder: A shooting, bizarre conspiracy theories and a case that remained unsolved for decades

Nearly three decades after Tupac Shakur was fatally shot in Las Vegas, a Nevada jury has convicted Duane Keffe D Davis of first-degree murder. This verdict, delivered on September 1, finally brings closure to a case that had remained unsolved for years, despite numerous investigations and conspiracy theories. Davis, 63, faces a potential life sentence.

He was convicted of orchestrating the shooting, which occurred after a confrontation between his nephew, Orlando Baby Lane Anderson, and members of Death Row Records. Although prosecutors did not claim that Davis fired the fatal shots, his testimony was crucial in the case. The events leading to Tupac's death began on September 7, 1996, when he attended a boxing match at the MGM Grand.

Later that night, he and his associate, Suge Knight, were attacked by members of Death Row Records, including Anderson. Days later, on September 13, Tupac was shot multiple times as he was driven by Davis in a white Cadillac. Davis was the only person found to be inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting. Despite his statements admitting to being involved and later memoirs detailing his role, his defense team argued that these were fabricated. However, the jury concluded that Davis was indeed responsible for Tupac's murder.
