Trump says US strikes on Iran are ‘very justified’, warns ‘biggest attack of them all waiting'

US President Donald Trump has declared US strikes on Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz as "very justified" and warned of a "biggest attack of them all" waiting in the wings if Iran retaliates. The strikes, described as "large and powerful," were carried out in response to alleged Iranian attempts to lay sea mines in the strategic waterway and missile attacks on a US military base in Jordan.

Trump cautioned that Iran would face an even stronger response if it retaliates, stating that the "biggest attack of them all" was still "waiting in the wings." The US military confirmed that strikes had begun targeting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iran, following the IRGC's attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and US service members in the region.

Iranian state media reported explosions at several locations, including Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, Chabahar, Jask, and Sirik. Iran's Armed Forces General Staff and joint military command vowed retaliation, promising "crushing and devastating blows" against the United States. Oil prices have surged following the renewed clashes, with crude prices up more than 50% this year and US gasoline prices reaching about $4.10 a gallon.
