SUV hits daily wager, man helps him, another car runs both over. Art director’s son held

On August 31, Nandu Lal, a daily laborer from Bihar, was walking near the Outer Ring Road roundabout in Hyderabad when he was struck by a speeding SUV. The driver fled the scene. A passerby, identified as Zaid Quadri, witnessed the incident and stopped to assist the severely injured Lal. As Quadri was taking Lal into his car for medical help, another SUV collided with his vehicle. The second impact led to Lal's death on the spot while Quadri sustained serious injuries. The second SUV also fled from the scene.

The police registered a case, launched a hunt for the two hit-and-run drivers, and collected CCTV footage to identify the vehicle involved in the second collision through its broken bumper. On Tuesday, it was discovered that the vehicle belonged to Anand Sai, a renowned art director. Police learned that his son, Sandeep, was behind the wheel when the SUV crashed into Quadri's car.

Sandeep was taken into custody and brought to the Raidurgam Police Station on Tuesday afternoon. The vehicle involved in the secondary collision has been seized by the police.

The first SUV that struck Lal while he was walking towards Khajaguda village remains untraced. Police are actively searching for the vehicle and expect arrests to be made soon. This incident follows a similar tragedy a fortnight ago, where the son of a prominent personality caused a fatal accident. On August 21, Jana Sena Party Rajya Sabha MP Lingamaneni Ramesh's son, Sanjush, was summoned by the Cyberabad Police after his Aston Martin hit a woman outside a mall, resulting in her death.

The accident occurred on August 16 when the 21-year-old was allegedly speeding and hit Bharati Mukhi, a 26-year-old mall employee. Sanjush stopped and rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, but she was pronounced dead. Sanjush has not been arrested yet, and officials are seeking legal advice regarding the matter.
