Sidra Medicine, Aman Hospital sign MoU to advance healthcare

Sidra Medicine, part of Qatar Foundation, and Aman Hospital have signed an agreement to enhance healthcare collaboration for patients and families in Qatar. This memorandum of understanding (MoU) signals the beginning of a broader partnership aimed at addressing evolving healthcare needs. The agreement includes provisions for exchanging expertise, strengthening professional development, and sharing clinical knowledge to improve coordinated care pathways.

Prof Ibrahim Janahi, chief medical officer at Sidra Medicine, emphasized, “This collaboration reflects our dedication to working closely with healthcare providers across Qatar to improve coordinated and patient-centred care. By leveraging our combined expertise and capabilities, we aim to support more robust care pathways, provide opportunities for professional advancement, and improve access to specialized services for patients and families.

We eagerly anticipate further strengthening this collaboration with Aman Hospital to bolster Qatar’s healthcare system.”

Caroline Kielty, chief nursing officer at Aman Hospital, noted, “Meaningful collaboration between healthcare institutions is crucial for delivering seamless, high-quality care. By merging our expertise, enhancing referral pathways, and fostering knowledge exchange and professional development, we can further elevate the continuity and quality of care.

We are confident that this partnership will enhance patient outcomes, elevate professional practice, and contribute to a more interconnected, accessible, and patient-centric healthcare system.”

A primary goal of the MoU is to establish stronger referral pathways between Sidra Medicine and Aman Hospital. This collaboration will facilitate the efficient transfer of patients and maintain continuity of care, ensuring patients and families have access to complementary specialized services offered by both institutions. Additionally, healthcare professionals will engage in clinical education, continuing professional development, simulation-based training, observerships, and other collaborative initiatives.

Moreover, Aman Hospital was the pioneering private hospital to sign a separate Cord Blood Banking agreement with Sidra Medicine. This arrangement enables expectant parents giving birth at Aman Hospital to store their newborn’s umbilical cord blood with Sidra Medicine. The collection process will be managed by Sidra Medicine, with processing and storage occurring at its GMP-certified facility, home to Qatar’s sole Cord Blood Bank.
