S. Korea's science minister attends G20 Innovation Ministerial event

Seoul, September 1 - South Korea's Science Minister Bae Kyung-hoon participated in the G20 Innovation Ministerial Meeting held in North Carolina on Tuesday, according to Bae's office. This event is part of the larger G20 gatherings preceding the December leaders' summit in Miami, Florida, and convened policymakers and executives from 21 nations to deliberate on artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies.

Poland served as the honored country for the year. During the gathering, Bae presented South Korea's strategies to foster AI as a pivotal growth sector. He also outlined the advancement of the government's "tripolar megaproject," a substantial investment plan announced in June, focusing on AI data centers, advanced semiconductors, and physical AI.

Bae emphasized South Korea's dedication to fostering a global AI ecosystem, simultaneously soliciting member nations' interest in the country's digital policies. The attendees intend to endorse a ministerial statement subsequent to the event, the science ministry reported.
