Russian jet-powered drone rips into 16-story Kyiv apartment building – photo

Russian strikes across Ukraine over the past 24 hours resulted in at least 16 deaths and 54 injuries, with Kyiv and the surrounding region bearing the brunt of the attacks. Six of the 12 fatalities were railway workers who perished when a ballistic missile struck their facilities. President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned Russia's relentless assault, stating that it is designed to inflict maximum harm on people's lives.

Odesa Oblast also faced heavy bombardment, with residential, energy, and port infrastructure targeted, injuring one person. Two homes, a sewing workshop, and the Orlivka international ferry crossing were damaged. Later, a fire broke out at a postal terminal that had already been hit earlier, but no new casualties were reported. Thousands of families were left without electricity, and emergency crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible.

Russia reportedly launched multiple types of missiles and drones, with Ukraine's air defenses intercepting or neutralizing 199 aerial targets. The attack continued at 8:32 a.m., with strikes ongoing in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv oblasts. In Kherson, an FPV drone struck a car, killing one person and setting it ablaze.

In Donetsk Oblast, one death and nine injuries were reported, while Sumy Oblast saw five casualties. Zaporizhzhia Oblast recorded five injuries, and Zhytomyr Oblast suffered fires at an industrial facility and a warehouse. Despite these devastating losses, Zelensky expressed gratitude to all those aiding Ukraine in becoming more resilient and called for increased deliveries of anti-ballistic missiles to bolster the nation's defenses.
