Phatthalung teacher allegedly beats, injures student with PVC pipe

A mother in Phatthalung filed a police complaint against a dormitory teacher at her teenage son's boarding school after alleging that the teacher beat her son with a PVC pipe, causing injuries and fear of returning to school. The incident allegedly took place on August 22 during the student's Mathayom 5 year. The mother, who sought help from reporters after attempts to resolve the issue with the school and supervising agencies failed, said her son was injured when the teacher struck him across the back with a PVC pipe measuring about 1.2 meters long.

The punishment reportedly followed an allegation that the student had stolen 40 baht from another dormitory student, an accusation the student denied. The mother questioned why the teacher punished her son before investigating the claim and criticized the school for not contacting her about the matter. The student also denied taking the money and alleged that the teacher threatened him with drinking water from a can found in a rubbish bin.

The mother expressed concern over her son's fear of the teacher and the inability to transfer him to another school, stating that the school did not permit the transfer. She filed a complaint with the Mueang Phatthalung Police Station, seeking action against the teacher for the alleged violence. The school did not respond to the allegations.
