Pannelli solari, Haiki+ vuole aumentare la capacità di riciclo

Haiki+ is betting on recycling solar panels. According to CEO Giovanni Rosti, "The growth of photovoltaics opens a new phase for the circular economy. In the coming years, we will witness a significant increase in modules reaching the end of their life, and it will be fundamental to have an industrial chain capable of recovering high-quality materials and reintroducing them into productive cycles.

Glass, aluminum, copper, and silicon represent an increasing availability of secondary raw materials: valorizing them means strengthening the autonomy of European industries, reducing dependence on imports, and enhancing the competitiveness of the European manufacturing system, making the circular economy a concrete lever for industrial policy."

Haiki+ is a national operator in waste management and majority shareholder of the Colucci family-controlled Holding SG, which launched an OPA on 100% of the company with the objective of delisting. At its Raee.man facility in Sale (Alessandria), alongside lines dedicated to alkaline batteries and lithium-ion batteries, since the beginning of the year, it has also been handling the recovery of materials from solar panels: "It handles 120,000 per hour.

It has a capacity of 10,000 tons per year on two shifts, and from September, it will be three - Rosti explains. It is based on a new totally mechanical technology that we developed with the producer of machinery, for which we are able to recover more quantity of material: 100% of aluminum, 98% of copper and glass, and plastic. We are working on recovering silver from silicon powder at our Pollutri (Chieti) plant, in a project with the University of Aquila, and if all goes well, the system will be installed in Sale by the end of the year."

Rosti confirms the request for this type of activity: "The end of the first generation of panels began a while ago, but the wave is now arriving. We have developed a technology that is a jewel in the crown, and now we want to export it to other Italian sites. Since panels are more common in the Center and South, we have in project to install new lines in the territory where we already recover lead batteries."

The investment is within the figure indicated in the 2026-28 plan, summing the recycling & electrics and metals accounts: 19 million euro.
