Owner of L.A. Rams and Denver Nuggets Buys Los Angeles Angels Baseball Team

The Los Angeles Angels, one of the worst teams in baseball, will be sold to the owner of another LA franchise, Stan Kroenke, reports Nate Atkins, Rams reporter for The Athletic. Moreno, the current Angels owner, has been under protest from fans who have chanted and even sent aerial messages to express their dissatisfaction with the team's performance.

Despite fielding star players like Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, the Angels have struggled to make an impact in Major League Baseball (MLB). In fact, Trout has only played in three playoff games throughout his 16-year career, all of which occurred in 2014. Moreno stated in a news release that the Angels have been a part of his family for 23 years and that Kroenke is the ideal next owner for the franchise.

Kroenke, known for his success across multiple sports, already owns the Los Angeles Rams, who have won two championships, the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL and the Denver Nuggets, as well as the English Premier League team Arsenal. He is also a significant investor in several other teams. Speaking about the sale, Kroenke remarked, "The Angels are a storied franchise anchored in a great market. We look forward to an exciting future with the Angels organization."

With this purchase, Kroenke becomes the top sports owner in the Los Angeles area, following Mark Walter's recent sale of the Los Angeles Dodgers' basketball team, the Lakers.
