OVHcloud gets French security certification for public cloud, plans European roll-out

On September 1st, OVHcloud secured France’s SecNumCloud cybersecurity certification for its public cloud service, as the nation tightens regulations on where sensitive state data can be stored and processed, according to the company's announcement on Tuesday. The French cloud provider targeted this service towards government bodies, regulated companies, and software providers catering to the public sector.

OVHcloud intends to roll out the platform to other European regions, including Italy, Germany, and Poland, contingent on meeting national requirements.

Securing the certification bolsters OVHcloud's efforts to expand its cloud offerings in Europe, where the company faces competition from American tech giants like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, all vying for government and regulated industry workloads. In its most recent quarter, OVHcloud's public cloud segment experienced a 15.8 percent revenue growth.
