New Street Fighter Trailer Teases Conflict Between Ryu and Ken, and E. Honda Does His Hundred Hand Slap

A fresh trailer for the upcoming Street Fighter movie has been released, offering a glimpse into some of the game's iconic fighters and hinting at potential conflicts between characters. The trailer showcases E. Honda in action, demonstrating his Sumo Headbutt move and the infamous Hundred Hand Slap. It appears that Ryu and Ken have had a falling out, possibly due to Ryu's disappearance and pursuit of the Dark Hadou, causing a rift between the two fighters.

Ryu, visibly angry, charges up a purple fireball, declaring that darkness has consumed him. Meanwhile, Ken struggles to release a single Hadouken in his apartment, despite his best efforts. Chun-Li pleads with Ryu to save Ken, who she believes is in danger, but the nature of the threat remains unclear. The trailer also features Chun-Li informing Ryu of Ken's peril and urging him to intervene and rescue his rival.

The film is set to hit theaters on October 16, with a nearly three-minute-long trailer featuring a plethora of characters from the Street Fighter universe. Vega, played by Orville Peck, Balrog portrayed by 50 Cent, Cammy voiced by Mel Jarnson, and numerous other fighters are all represented in the clip. Additionally, Roman Reigns appears as Akuma, lifting fellow wrestler Joe with the power of the Satsui no Hadou.

Guile, portrayed by actor Cody Rhodes, adds a touch of humor to the film as a sarcastic and witty fighter, in contrast to his stoic in-game counterpart. The trailer also hints at potential parallels to the 1994 animated movie, where Bison captures and brainwashes Ken, transforming him into Violent Ken.
