Netball: Golden Maidens to face Cote d’Ivoire in int’l friendly

The national netball team, known as the Golden Maidens, is set to face their Ivorian counterparts in an international friendly match at the Accra Sports Stadium. This two-day event, which will take place on September 10-11, will commence at 3pm each day. Notable attendees of the event include high-ranking officials like the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Mr Kofi Iddie Adams; the Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mr Yaw Ampofo Ankrah; and the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, Mr Richard Akpokavie.

Additionally, Mr Samson Deen, President of the Africa Paralympic Committee, is also expected to be present. The Netball Federation of Ghana's President, Reverend E. D. Nikoi, and the Technical Director, Mr Kofi Asamoah Acheampong, will also be attending the match.

Both teams are expected to provide a thrilling display of their netball skills as they aim for victory and the pride of a win. The National Netball Federation (NFG) has urged supporters, including basic and senior high schools as well as public universities, to rally behind the national team during these friendly encounters. The Golden Maidens have previously participated in continental events arranged by African Netball, such as the Netball Africa Cup, and have occasionally engaged in bilateral test matches or localized invitation tournaments within West Africa and international friendlies when funds permit.
