MFM partners Jiangsu Huali for poultry tech push
KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Flour Mills Bhd’s unit Dindings Poultry Development Centre Sdn Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jiangsu Huali Co Ltd to negotiate and finalise the procurement of poultry-farming equipment for Dindings Poultry’s poultry farming expansion.
Malayan Flour Mills Bhd's subsidiary, Dindings Poultry Development Centre, has teamed up with Jiangsu Huali Co Ltd to advance poultry farming technology in Malaysia. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore and finalize the purchase of poultry farming equipment, comprehensive technical solutions, training for Dindings Poultry's staff, post-sale service and maintenance, and data-driven maintenance management systems.
The signing of the MoU took place at the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Show 2026. Malaysia aims to attain a 140% poultry-meat self-sufficiency level by 2030, necessitating an increase in production while maintaining biosecurity and operational efficiency. Dindings Poultry's local farming expertise coupled with Jiangsu Huali's digital and livestock-farming abilities will provide effective solutions suitable for Malaysia's farming conditions.
Malayan Flour executive deputy chairman and managing director Teh Wee Chye expressed optimism about the partnership, stating that it will contribute to a more technology-enabled domestic poultry industry. The MoU is valid until Aug 31, 2027, with the option to extend if both parties agree. The company's shares rose by 0.72% during the midday break, reaching 69.5 sen and valuing the firm at RM861.21 million.
