Man accused of B.C. park graffiti arrested after turning himself in

A man has been accused of spray-painting a graffiti memorial on rocks within a British Columbia park, according to Maple Ridge RCMP. The incident occurred at Golden Ears Park, located in the Lower Mainland, and was captured on social media, dated August 4. The message was spray-painted in red paint onto the boulders, and BC Parks described it as a misguided tribute following the drowning of a man in the creek’s Lower Fall area earlier that day.

Maple Ridge RCMP announced that the man turned himself in to the police last week and has since been released pending a court appearance. The investigation into the alleged criminal case and potential violations of the provincial Park Act is ongoing. Police are urging the public to refrain from making conclusions until the investigation is complete, given the significant public interest in the case.
