Maharashtra Colleges Asked To Organise Job Fairs Ahead Of Statewide Rojgar Mahakumbh 2026

Chandrakant Patil, the Higher and Technical Education Minister of Maharashtra, has called upon colleges across the state to organise employment drives and foster connections between students and the industry in preparation for the statewide Rojgar Mahakumbh 2026. The event, scheduled for September 29, 2026, aims to generate employment opportunities for young individuals based on their educational qualifications, skills, and capabilities.

During a meeting at Mantralaya on Tuesday, Patil emphasized the importance of colleges working closely with industries, companies, and entrepreneurs to ensure students' skills align with industry needs. He stressed the significance of regular job fairs, skill-development programmes, and career guidance initiatives tailored to regional industry requirements.

The Rojgar Mahakumbh is anticipated to unite multiple companies, industries, and employment opportunities under one roof, enabling young people to participate in interviews directly. This initiative could save students' time and enhance their prospects of securing employment aligned with their skills.

Patil also stressed the necessity of collaboration between educational institutions and industry to guarantee that young people have access to employment or self-employment opportunities following their education. He urged more colleges to participate in the initiative to create new employment opportunities for students, aiming to integrate Maharashtra's youth into the mainstream employment sector.
