Jana Wibawa: Records put Muhyiddin at golf club on date of disputed meeting

A witness to the High Court testified that former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was playing golf at the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort on July 19, 2020. Group head of security S. Saravanan confirmed that the Green Fee Tag revealed Muhyiddin and 14 others as registered players at the golf club on that day. The invoice shows Muhyiddin's golf service fees were fully covered by the golf club, amounting to RM0.

The Green Fee Tag system requires each player's registration and name entry for record-keeping and insurance purposes. Azman Yusoff, Bumiputera Contractors Association of Malaysia president, met Muhyiddin at a golf tournament at the same club in July 2020 to discuss projects under the Jana Wibawa programme. However, the nature of the meeting was disputed by lawyer Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad, who claimed the meeting took place in October and was not a tournament, but rather a small group friendly match.

The prosecution intends to call businessman Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad as a defence witness. Muhyiddin, charged with abuse of power and money laundering, faces seven counts under the MACC Act 2009 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001. The trial resumes the following day.
