Iran's Pezeshkian says Tehran will reciprocate if US honors interim deal commitments - report

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Tuesday that Tehran would reciprocate if the United States fulfilled its commitments under an interim deal signed in June, according to the Iranian Student News Agency. The Iranian leader, who attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, was joined by world leaders including Russia's Vladimir Putin, India's Narendra Modi, China's Xi Jinping, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Pezeshkian, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan with a message of diplomacy over conflict, met with various leaders and discussed military affairs and economic ties during the summit. He reiterated his stance during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Modi on Monday, emphasizing that continued war was detrimental to all parties and that dialogue and cooperation were the key to resolving existing issues.

Pezeshkian has reportedly had varying levels of access to Supreme Leader Khamenei in recent weeks, with differing accounts of their interactions.
