How Ryu Jun-yeol tackled two roles in Netflix's series 'Mousetrap'

Korean actor Ryu Jun-yeol recently took on the challenge of playing two distinct characters in Netflix's original series, Mousetrap. Directed by Kim Hong-sun, the psychological thriller follows Moon-jae (played by Ryu), a writer whose identity, appearance, and life are stolen by an enigmatic character named "the Rat." As the story unfolds, loan shark No-ja (Sul Kyung-gu) seeks to retrieve his stolen money, while detective Sun-yong (Lee Kyu-hyung) strives to uncover the truth behind the heist.

Since its release on August 28, Mousetrap has rapidly climbed the ranks, securing the No. 6 spot on Netflix's global TV show rankings by September 1. The series has made its mark in 49 countries, including Korea, France, India, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates. Ryu expressed his enthusiasm for the response, stating, "I’ve been getting so many calls from people around me since the show came out.

I can really feel the response firsthand." Impressed by the script even before the ending was finalized, Ryu was intrigued by the premise of a man losing his entire identity.
